Built upon a thriving tech-industry driven economy, Redmond offers a balance of urban and suburban amenities within a convenient, central location. Its residents are diverse and well-educated, and enjoy visiting upscale outdoor shopping complexes, trendy wine bars and delectable eateries, and abundant playgrounds and parks. An integral part of the growing Eastside tech corridor, Redmond is home to campuses for Microsoft, Google and Nintendo, among others. Informally nicknamed the “Bicycle Capital of the Northwest,” those that choose to travel on two wheels can get nearly anywhere, traversing miles of lanes and trails that connect throughout the city and weave through neighborhood parks. The best of the Northwest is right in Redmond’s backyard, but like other Eastside communities, it is situated to allow for a short commute into the city and over the Cascade mountains and all the recreation that the eastern half of the state provides.
